Welcome to the dangerous world.
After Benjamin's lie everyone were eager to eat dodo. Every county's crewmates worked like madman. Oscar was there seeing everything he was heartbroken, read how the author has written the situation,

It was their third day, the Oscar's were sleeping in afternoon George made his usual to play with click-click at afternoon. He went there to witness a miracle the egg in the best was ready to hatch. The egg was slowly cracking, George was focused on the egg the hatching used it's leg to break the shell
" A new creature struggled to lay it's feet on this world
To be born and I was there to witness it.
Like angels coming down to earth we the beings awaiting their arrival
To take care of them and watch them grow. It is a marvelous moment. "

George was the most joyful moment of his life he felt as he reached the highest level of satisfaction. After hours the egg hatched now everyone take note of this
" dodo's protect their hatching until they are well grown they won't let them alone."
George began to feel the family is now fulfilled but he became sad as these dodo don't know they are going to die. The dodo's were happy about their new hatching but George was sad that even that hatching won't survive long. He was there in sadness until his mother Emily came and took him home. It became night, the Emily was preparing food and George was helping Emily. Oscar was currently think how to get the British and Portuguese out Mauritius. Oscar thought of an idea. Everyone went to sleep, Oscar came out his tent. Since they were in the beachside he took the torches set up by the other ship tents and set Benjamin's ship on fire. The fire started to spread to other ships he started to think whether what he did was right or wrong when the ships were half-burnt. He started to help random crewmates to extinguish the fire. When the fire was gone, the ships were too gone. Many of the ships were damaged heavily it cannot be used to sail except Benjamin's ship his ship suffered fire in the storage part. Oscar went to sleep not knowing what to do. At morning everyone start to decide that they will hunt animals for food and use the wood to repair the ships as the woods were high of fiber they also decided to take it their own country. Everyone was working at full force. Oscar felt like a murderer, he felt like not only the dodo's are going to die the while Mauritius too. Some people started to capture the dodo, the majority of the hunters Were British. Antonio was angry as the Portuguese were the first to know that their is an creature named dodo. He sent all his men to find a dodo. The Benjamin was disappointed in eating dodo so he focused on resources. Antonio finally got hold of a dodo. Whenever a dodo is captured George leaves to find whether it is click-click's family or not. But to his horror it was true, it was a male dodo from click-click's family. He began to cry and told them to his parents. Oscar went to Antonio and argued that these creatures should be studied and let to be life freely. But Antonio didn't listened to Oscar he ordered his chef to cook the dodo immediately. But he too was dissapointed in the meat but he too lied as the cannot take the shame because his country people were the ones who told them. Oscar told them what happened he hugged George and told him it is inevitable that the dodo's extinction.
When everyone heard Antonio's lie again all others wanted eat the dodo.
