History of dodo.
A history professor is taking a class in a college, " Does anyone know about the dodo?" half students raise their hands indicating that they know, and the second half class is divided into two quarters, one which didn't know and another which didn't cared. The chapter at that day was Dodo, so the professor started to take class about it. The students who didn't cared about dodo gave a small laugh. The professor started the class by a story,
" In 1600 years ago, during at that time, the world was combined into one single continent known as the "Super continent". Then centuries passed and the super continent broke into the continent we know today. During the breakdown of the super continent and other newly formed continents many tiny islands formed we are going to study about on particular island named Mauritius. The Mauritius was like the heaven to the flora and fauna. The species "Columbidae" commonly known as the Pigeon started it's life there. Now here is a fact " pigeon is the precursor of dodo" now write that as note. The students who were carrying their own work started to hear what the professor was saying. The Mauritius was a peaceful island with no carnivores. The Pigeons evolved through the years and became the dodo. The Mauritius was surrounded by seas making them the top species in Mauritius the runner-up was the turtles. The dodo species didn't migrated to any other place. Their bones, fossils were found on Mauritius only not on any other continent on the world. The dodos possessed small brain Since there are no predators on Mauritius the survival instinct was not enabled in them. You have seen pigeons fly but due to it's body weight and body structure they were flightless birds. So this is how the dodo evolved and enjoyed it's time on the island. During the 1600, the shipments rose, one particular Portuguese ship which got caught in the storm accidentally found the island. They had to dock at Mauritius to rest until the storm passed away. Due to the storm, they lost their shipments and food. The ship crew started to search the island for food, that was the moment when they had the first encounter with dodo.
The Portuguese man who caught the dodo for the first time described it " when we came near it it stayed there, when we caught it, it remained calm. We captured it and ate it. It was nearly the size of chicken and can be eaten by 4-5 people. It's flesh was thick and didn't taste as chicken. We has to eat it because we had no choice." After the storm ended they left for Portuguese. They spread the news about Mauritius and the new species but they lied to the people about the taste of dodo. They told it's flesh was tasty. The Portuguese now wanted to have the experience of eating the dodo. The news of dodo reached several continents, many explorers form around the world set to find the dodo. One British family went to Mauritius to not to eat the dodo but to study it.
The Father Oscar who was the captain of the ship and wife Emily who was a zoologist. Now we are going to see about their son George who is the writer of the story and the hero of the story. The family arrived at the island. The island was pleasant and peaceful. George was 7 year old he immediately saw an dodo but he mistakenly thought the dodo as some other bird he went near it to touch it. The dodo didn't ran away. It walked away from George, he started to trail the dodo in his thought he decided to make a dodo as his pet, he named it "Click Click" that dodo went to its nest with George following the dodo. George thought it must be click click's Parents do he cannot make it as its pet. He neared the dodo's nest. The dodo didn't do anything. Inside the nest was an egg. Now dodo's lay only one egg. The dodos look after the egg until it hatches and still cares to look after they are grown completely. George spends time with the dodo and left. By the time he was away, George's parents set up camp. George went to his mother, "Mama, I found a friend, his name is click-click" his mother didn't understood what George said but he cannot disappoint his son so she replied to play with his friend. If her mother knew who is this click-click she would have already started to study it. George's father saw something far away approaching them.
The ship docked at the island from the ship 30 crew members came out. Oscar went to inspect. From The ship a royal man came out. Oscar went to introduce himself," Welcome your royalness, I am Oscar, a humble sea captain docked here" that man introduced himself " hello, kind person. I am Antonio." Oscar asked why he was here Antonio replied " I am here to taste this creature so-called Dodo." that both turned facing the ocean from far away he saw many ships approaching them.
